Good afternoon Alligator families!

Before we look ahead, let's give our team huge congrats for our last three meets! One tie and two wins over two teams that had been a combined 8-3 entering those contests. All the hours and hard work the kids and coaches have been putting in all those mornings really showed. Well done everyone!

Next week, there are two league championship meets. For both of these meets, the league has a rule requiring that participants have competed in four of the meets up to this point.

On Tuesday, at Richland is the "Individual Championships". This is the only meet during our season that does not have any relay events. There is an individual freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly event in each age group and an individual medley in all age groups except the 8 & under groups. In each event, we can only enter 2 competitors. Please mark on the Schedule for this meet if you are available. Our coaches will use the list of who is available for the entries to this meet. At this time, we do not have arrival or warmup time for this meet as we are still waiting for that information from the Richland host team. However, expect that it will be earlier than our usual 5:30 or 6:00 warmup time. Swimmers that place at this event will receive medals or ribbons but team results are not tracked and no team awards are given out.

Thursday, we are hosting the league championship which is a similar format to our regular meets. Each team has 1 entry per event so again we will have limited participants. Our concession stand will be extremely busy with eight teams present and a volunteer signup will be sent out by Dana Hune separately. Even if you do not have an entrant in the meet, please consider helping with this part of our hosting duties. One of the reasons we are able to keep our registration fees as low as they are is because of the money that our concessions raise during the season and this meet is the biggest piece of that. Trophies for first, second and third place for this meet will be presented at the end of the meet. For those participating in the meet, our warmup time will be 4:30. The meet will start around between 5:30 and 5:45 and should be finished by 8:30.

Our practices will continue on the same schedule through next Thursday and we would like every member of the team to participate in all of those practices as much as possible. Our first mission is to teach before it is to compete so even for those that may not be able to compete next week, we want you to continue to practice with us.

On July 19th, we will have an end of season pool party from 7:00 to 9:00. It will be an open swim for all family members and the team will provide pizza. We may have a signup for contributions for drinks, snacks and dessert. That will be determined and shared at a later date.
